- Major Ski Season Kickoff: The ski season for 2024/25 is officially underway at Mátraszentistván Ski Park, Hungary's first resort to open. The slopes will welcome skiers and snowboarders, with lift operations starting at 9:30 AM. Night skiing options may be available based on weather conditions, and ski pass prices have not increased since two years ago. Read more here
- Tram Service Changes Due to Repairs: Starting December 27 and running until January 5, trams 4 and 6 in Budapest will only operate between Széll Kálmán Square and Corvin Quarter due to urgent water pipe repairs. Replacement bus services will be available from Corvin Quarter to southern terminal stations. Passengers are encouraged to use metro lines 3 and 4 for alternative routes. Read more here

One fire resulted in a fatality, and several homes were significantly damaged, notably in Kistarcsán.
