Péter Magyar challenges Viktor Orbán to a debate

Péter Magyar, the leader of the Tisza Party, has once again invited Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to a public debate ahead of the elections scheduled for June 9.

This is not the first time Magyar has extended such an invitation, having previously attempted to organize a triple debate with Ferenc Gyurcsány and Orbán, which ultimately did not result in a discussion.

The Invitation

In a formal appeal, Magyar addressed Orbán, stating, "As the leader of a party backed by many of our compatriots, I challenge you to a public debate regarding the current state of our country and proposed solutions to the challenges we face." He emphasized that Orbán has the discretion to choose the location, timing, and moderator for the debate. Magyar also remarked on the opportunity for the Prime Minister to explain why Hungary has become one of the poorest and most corrupt member states of the European Union.

Response Awaited

Attempts were made to reach Orbán Viktor’s press secretary, Bertalan Havasi, to inquire whether the Prime Minister would accept the challenge. A response to this query is anticipated.
