Franz Ferdinand to perform at Művészetek Völgye Festival

Franz Ferdinand will be one of the prominent acts at the 2025 Művészetek Völgye festival. The band is set to perform at the Panoráma stage in Kapolcs, making them the first international artist to take the stage since 2019.

This summer, they will showcase their sixth album, titled The Human Fear, which was released this year. The album cover was inspired by the artwork "Hét elforgatás" by Hungarian visual artist Maurer Dóra.

Artwork Inspiration

Frontman Alex Kapranos expressed his admiration for Maurer Dóra's work on Instagram, noting that her piece not only possesses geometric intrigue but also reflects the thematic depth of the new album's lyrics. Kapranos reached out to Maurer last year regarding the album cover, ensuring that her original artwork was represented, although their interpretation offers a completely new take on the image.

Festival Program

In addition to Franz Ferdinand, other performances at the Művészetek Völgye will include artists such as Bagossy Brothers Company, Quimby, Bohemian Betyars, and Margaret Island. The festival will feature around 3,000 cultural programs related to music, theatre, literature, and visual arts, taking place across Kapolcs, Vigántpetend, and Taliándörögd.

The festival is also collaborating with various art communities in Buda, allowing attendees to explore venues like the Marczibányi Cultural Center and the Budai Dance Club, among others.
