Foodora Hungary fined for quality complaints

The Budapest Government Office, announced on Friday that the food delivery service Foodora has been fined 50 million HUF for consumer protection violations.

This penalty comes after numerous complaints were lodged regarding the quality of the service provided by the company.

Customer Complaints

The Budapest Government Office conducted an inspection of Foodora due to ongoing grievances regarding late deliveries and subpar quality of food. Customers expressed dissatisfaction not only with the timing of their orders but also with the quality of the meals and compensation offered for service issues. Botond stated that there were additional shortcomings discovered during the inspection, which contributed to the hefty fine.

Previous Penalties

This is not the first significant penalty Foodora has faced recently. In February, the company was fined 35 million HUF by the Hungarian Competition Authority for misleading consumers. Although Foodora paid this fine, they contested the findings of the resolution.

The government office has reached out to Foodora for a statement regarding the recent penalty, and updates will be provided if a significant response is received.
