Nézőpont poll: Fidesz leads confidently against Tisza Party

According to the government-affiliated Nézőpont Institute's latest poll, Fidesz-KDNP holds a solid lead over its main competitor, the Tisza Party.

The poll indicates that Fidesz has a 13 percentage point advantage, with 38% support compared to Tisza's 25%. The survey also revealed that other parties, including Mi Hazánk at 5%, DK at 3%, and Kutyapárt at 4%, hold significantly lesser shares in public support.

Implications of Public Sentiment

The Nézőpont Institute remarks that the key question in the coming weeks will be the impact of controversial comments made by politician Magyar Péter. Their previous survey showed no significant shift in public opinion between October and November, and current estimates suggest Fidesz has approximately 2.9 million supporters compared to just over 1.9 million for Tisza among the adult population.

Predicted Election Outcomes

The Institute also provided a projection for the upcoming elections based on their findings, predicting Fidesz would secure 46% of the votes, with Tisza anticipated to receive 34%, Mi Hazánk at 8%, DK at 5%, and Kutyapárt not qualifying for parliament with a share of 4%.

This survey was conducted between November 11 and 13, involving 1,000 telephone interviews, which are representative of Hungary's population aged 18 and older across various demographics. The margin of error is ± 3.16% at a 95% confidence level.

Discrepancies in Polling Data

It is important to note that other polling institutions have reported contrasting results over the past month. The IDEA Institute, for example, suggests that Tisza is leading Fidesz, while Medián and Republikon have also indicated varying levels of support favoring Tisza.
