Argentine hiker narrowly escapes freezing in Bükk mountains

In an alarming incident on Friday, the mayor of Felsőtárkány, Attila Simon Juhász, heard distress calls while on his morning run. Following the sound, he discovered a completely frozen and lost hiker in the Bükk Mountains.

This individual, an Argentine male, had reportedly been wandering the woods for several days before being found, wrapped in a blanket to stay warm.

Survival Struggles

Upon being discovered, the hiker struggled to communicate, appearing disoriented and showing signs of severe cold exposure. His clothes were soaked, his legs swollen, and he was unable to move efficiently. During his ordeal, he had managed to survive by lighting fires made from branches and melting snow for drinking water.

Emergency responders arrived shortly after his rescue, with ambulance spokesperson Pál Győrfi stating that the hiker complained of weakness and foot pain. He was taken to a hospital's emergency department for a thorough examination.
